What Massage Therapies are Available?
Cross-Friction Massage
This is a deep pressure massage that involves small circular movements penetrating the body’s deep tissues. This acts as a way to break down adhesions and scar tissues, whilst maintaining mobility within the body’s soft-tissue structures of muscles, tendons and ligaments.
Myofascial Release
This is a specialised manual therapy massage that follows the body’s overall muscle movement patterns. It has proven to be effective in the treatment of soft tissue and fascial tensions.
Trigger Point Therapy
This massage aims to alleviate the pains that occur in tight areas of muscle tissue, otherwise known as a trigger point. Through cycles of pressure and release, we can emancipate previously restricted areas in the body’s muscles, as a way to relieve pain.
Pre and Post-Natal Massage Therapies
We also offer pre and post-natal massage therapies, and seated massage, if necessary.
What are the Benefits of Massage Therapy?
Massage therapy helps to work on a person’s individual muscle fibres. This relieves long-term muscular tension and can improve a person’s bodily structure and overall posture, reducing pain at the same time. Massage therapy can help to relieve daily stress, pain and tension, because it acts as a way of keeping muscles and joints supple and relaxed. Massage therapy can also be used as a way to prevent, or recover from injuries, meaning it can help in optimising sporting performance.
